Winspit is the closest swimming spot to the cottage and a footpath leads directly to it from the front door! Not only do you have the magnificent scenery, it has a wealth of history and natural beauty to explore.
Until around 1940 Winspit was used as a stone quarry, providing stone for buildings in London. During World War II it was used as a site for naval and air defences.
In recent years it has become popular with rock climbers, wild swimmers, snorkelers and sunbathers.
